"Helping people help themselves"

The Samaritan Center is a morning drop-in center for the homeless. Here they can take a shower, get clean clothes, have something to eat, make phone calls, receive mail and messages. Through outreach programs provided at the Center, they have access to public heath nurses, abuse counseling, job recruitment, social workers and more. The Center is here to help the homeless help themselves to become productive members of the community.

How you can help

Volunteering - The Samaritan Center is fully staffed by volunteers who assist in the communications center, laundry services, reception and other areas.

Hours: 7am to 11am Monday -Friday (Winter over night shelter)

Donations - The Center depends upon donations of everyday necessities like clothes, food, first aid supplies

Contributions - Financial assistance is always needed to cover the facility expenses and for the purchase of those items not donated.

All contributions go directly to serving the Homeless!

Much Needed Items

First Aid:

Antacid, antibiotic cream, cold & flu tablets, cough drops, lip balm, Sunscreen, band-aids, Q-tips, cotton balls, insect repellent, body & foot powders

Clothing:

underware, mens 30-38 and wemens 6-8 socks, jeans, T-shirts, shoes & laces, sweats, backpacks, fanny pouches, hats, jackets, gloves, rain ponchos & umbrellas.

Laundry:

Bleach & Detergent

Kitchen:

Coffee, tea bags, creamer, sugar, cereal

Office Supplies

Folders, binders, diskettes, copy paper, scissors, transparent tape, pen/pencils, writing pads envelopes & Postage stamps.

Paper goods:

Napkins, plates, paper towels, plastic utensils, cups, bowls, plates, coffee stirs, & trash bags

Shower:

Brushes/combs, shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream/razors, lotion, mouthwash (non-alcoholic) tooth paste & tooth brushes, powder, feminine products, bath towels, face cloths, tissue, & toilet paper.

Transportation:

Passes for Simi Vista, SCAT, Metrolink.
You can drop off any of these items at the Samaritan Center located at 280 Royal Ave. Simi Valley between 7am and 11am Monday through Friday. Thank you!
